Kalai stared dejectedly into the fire. "You know," she said as she absentmindedly played with the line of beads in her hands. "One would think, finding a piece of *dirt* would be easier."

Arete snorted and leaned back against Iovene's legs. Her sea green eyes seemed to flicker back the life of the fire. Her lips quirked in good humor, though she had to admit to feeling the same frustration. The interpreter's hand rested on her shoulders, rubbing soothingly. "Well, there's a whole lot of dirt to look at," Arete said reasonably. "We're looking for a pinch of crust," which the blonde happily demonstrated by closing two fingers together, "in a field." She expanded her muscular arms outward. The arm bands had given up creaking a long time ago, but flexed smoothly. It seemed as if she were embracing the whole world.

Kalai nodded dejectedly and sighed. She shook her head. "Yeah, well, we're never going to find it at this rate. I know the guardian said the Son was near here, but. . .where?" Hours of fruitless searching weighed on her mind. One day, Arete took them in one direction. The next, it was a different one. She hated to to think that Arete was losing her touch, especially since it was so new. But by the way they had wandered it was as if. ..

"It's moving!!!!" Kalai shot up from the log she was sitting on and looked at them with sudden glee. Then she began to blather. She poured out all the details that provided the evidence. Then she looked at Iovene so sincerely, "We're going about this all wrong." She said it almost mournfully.

"Well," Iovene said, smiling gently, "I don't know about that. How would you have discovered this, if we hadn't been searching to begin with."

Arete nodded, "True." The small brown woman just grinned.

"Well, we're gonna have to think of something different," Kalai said firmly, smacking a fist into a palm. "Maybe we can track it somehow."

The blonde decided it was time to stand and stretch. She reached to the sky for a moment, and looked up at sparkling stars. "Maybe," she yawned out, "but that's something to think of tomorrow."

Iovene smiled, stood up, and gathered her blanket. The blonde blinked at her, "Where you going?"

The dowser's lips quirked. She spoke mildly as she pointed, "The other side of the fire." She was surprised at the question. This had been their standard procedure since they'd first traveled together. True she missed the embrace of her soul. . ."OH. ..oh.." realization dawned in Iovene's eyes as Arete smiled and extended a hand.

"I promised Eudora we'd take care of you," the muscular woman said, as she pulled the curly woman into a warm, filling embrace. Iovene's heart began slamming pleasantly in her chest. Arete whispered as she kissed Iovene's cheek gently, "And it is the queen's pleasure that you be. . ." Kalai seemed to come from nowhere and gently stroked the dowser's back, "loved."

"Oh," was the soft response. Iovene tried to catch her breath, but it escaped somewhere. A deep shudder quaked through Iovene's body as it sparkled to a different kind of alertness with each gentle touch. Somehow the bedding was spread, their clothes removed, and the fire banked to a soft glow, but it was none of Iovene's doing. Her own wet flame spiraled to life with Kalai's moist kisses and Arete's calloused and gently invasive rocking touch. Iovene lost track of time, but fell into motion and emotion, embracing and being embraced.

In the end, after all the soft words and caresses, it was so easy to open for them, to them. She let them into her soul fully, as Arete ground wetly against her thigh and filled her with deep plunging motions and Kalai spread for her tongue and gyrated above her. She could feel the way her skin responded to them, soaking them in as if they were water and she the ground. Her fingers pressed into Kalai's buttocks, guiding as she sought every ounce of that sweet salted gift from Aphrodite. She was more than a little aware of Kalai's hot cries and Arete's low chuckling erotic comments. The blankets scruffed against the grass and buffered her back, even as she moved so hard against the earth in response to the blonde's deft movements. Her nipples screamed for attention, but Kalai was arching in ecstasy, her hands busy with her own breasts and Arete was using one hand for sturdy support and Iovene didn't want to lose her grip. She was too close, so close, so....

Iovene's head bucked away from Kalai's body as she arched with the pleasure that roiled through her so deeply that her voice pierced the air with a solid continuous scream of, "OH GODS!!!" She clamped around Arete, holding her deeply within. Her finger dug into bruisingly into Kalai's hips. Her eyes closed. A light awakened in her with Kalai's own self prompted release and Arete's joining shout. They held onto each other, letting the energy flow through them and around them.

They cuddled afterwards. Iovene rested comfortably in the hollow of Arete's arm, while Kalai curled around the dowsers' backside. Her body glowed with pleasure and her mind basked in hormonal brilliance. The brunette sat up abruptly. "Gods!"

"What?" Kalai said, suddenly alert, reaching for her knife. It was never very far from her.

Iovene grinned. It was so simple!! "I know what to do."

Arete closed her eyelids and stretched like a cat, "What to do for what?" She turned on her side and rested an affectionate hand on Iovene's thigh.

"Should have thought of it before," Iovene replied absently, "but you're going to have to do the asking. Or maybe the queen."

"Iovene." Arete spoke gently.

"Hmm?"

"We're missing part of the conversation."

The dowser blinked owlishly at the Amazon, then turned to Kalai, who slipped her knife back in it's sheathe. "Oh. Well, It occurred to me, that we could send a message."

"A message about what?" ask Kalai, as she laid back down, folding an arm under her head. "To who?"

Iovene grinned and got specific, "A message to the other elementals telling the young one to come to us!"

Arete blinked at her and gaped. Kalai just groaned and covered her eyes with her free hand. Iovene grinned at them brightly. Arete began to chuckle, even as Kalai started to giggle. Kalai grinned to herself and shook her head. Sometimes you just had to quit trying so hard. Arete pulled the intelligent dowser into an embrace and Iovene snuggled in. Kalai curled up against the sweet woman's back, letting her hand rest in the curve of her waist. She felt better all around. It hadn't been such a bad day after all. In fact, given the way she was feeling now, it had been a really really good day.
